The Kids Area
Details for 2011's Kids Area coming soon - meanwhile check out what was on offer for the lil 'uns in 2010 below:
The Bigtopmania Kidzone Team returns to Bestival with a host of artists and activities designed to keep the kids happy and far from bored with all that adult partying!! There will be a baby Big Top for the shows, a Crafts Marquee, a Toddlers Under 5s Area, Jan's infamous Van, a dressing up tent, a bouncy castle, face painting, and an outdoor play area.
The area will be rammed with entertainment and play activities - space hoppers, hula hoops, crazy bikes, circus skills and wacky toys. There will be shows from BigTopMania (Peteza and mini circus show), Noisy Oyster Theatre Company presenting Dangerous Dave (the Legend!), the Treehouse Theatre Company presenting their highly popular and ever inventive interactive show “Tale-Enders”, Clown Zaz’s clown show plus a kids talent show and some crazy disco dancing for sure ... and yes, even some surprisingly good fire spinning and glow shows from Pyrokinesis.
Activities will include circus workshops and crazy inflatables, junk instrument making, Jan’s van (from painting her van to chalkboards to whirling dervishes and the kid's Can-Can), storytelling and bedtime stories from John Row, Yoga Bugs Kids yoga and parachute games. Plus there will be crafts in the marquee from Caz and Jo (make and take crafts - great take home souvenirs!), MoMosaics (making willow lanterns), the ScrapArtCrew (making Bestival Beasties), Festival StickerArt (things made from recycled stickers - festivalstickerart.com) and lovely walkabout shows from The Pirate Fairies (they have a barrel of laughs!).
Plus, not forgetting the very little ones, a sectioned off part of the children’s area is dedicated to enabling your Toddlers to have fun too. From train sets to home play, sand, brio, play dough and story books all ensure that you can chill out in a comfortable environment whilst your little ones are able to play in their own little world.
The kids will also have their very own Dressing Up Shop, complete with a red carpet cat walk to show off their outfits. There will be loads of fun workshops - crown making, costume making and face painting plus there will be a Children's Talent Contest on Sunday afternoon - everyone is a winner!
And a kids area would be complete without an ace Bouncy Castle!
So don’t leave them at Grannies – Camp in the Family Camp site area, bring the kids along and they can party too!!!
It's worth noting too that Robin Hill Countryside Adventure Park (the Bestival site) is actually a year round children's paradise equipped with a Tree Top Trail, Maze, Rabbit Run Tunnels, Miniature Village (mind your head at the Duck Inn!), Toboggan Run, slides, swings and much much more. Not to mention the ducks in the lakes, the Bird Sanctuary and the Peacocks that roam freely around!
