Roll up roll up tribe of the Bestivalites: descend from your starships, rise out of the seabed, fall from the stars, unleash the Magick and release your imagination into our 2010 world of FANTASY.

Open the gates and welcome in Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, The Lord of the Rings, hobbits, trolls, elves, fairies, the Odyssey, King Arthur, Merlin, the Dong with the luminous nose, William Morris, A Midsummer Nights Dream, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Willy Wonka, Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, Harry Potter, Spirited Away, The Time Machine, Star Wars, the Incredible Hulk, Magick, the supernatural, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Lord Ganesh, Fantasy Island, Caractacus Potts, Tarzan, Veruca Salt, Zombies...

... the only limit is how far your mind's eye can see!

Our traditional Fancy Dress Parade kicks of in the Fire Field at 2.30pm on Saturday and wings its way through Bollywood and into the Fantasy Field. Join in your finery or just stand and watch in amazement as the Fantastic creations pass by topped and tailed by Lost & Found and keep an eye out for us all in disguise!

This year Smiffy’s - www.smiffys.com - one of the UK’s largest party industry suppliers - is extremely proud to be the official fancy dress sponsor of Bestival 2010. They will also be attending the event with a stand full of wonderful costumes, wigs and accessories suitable for our Fantasy theme. Whether people are looking for full on costumes or some fantastic finishing touches from their huge range of accessories, they'll be able to find it at Smiffy's. They will also be running competitions throughout the event where festival goers can win brilliant prizes for their fancy dress efforts - so everyone can join in the fancy dress fun! Look out for Smiffy's red and white tent in the Magic Meadow.

And of course, our own legendary Dressing Up Tent will be on site and on hand to help you get dolled up. It will be located as usual next to the Bollywood Tent and comes with the usual moustache and eyelash bar, fantasy make up booth, fantasy hair styling,  face-painting and gorgeous themed tattoos and of course rouches of costumes and retro and beautiful clothes, wigs, hats.

Plus its infamous Catwalk next to Bollywood where Fancy Dress Competitions on Saturday afternoon include most fantastic group, most fantastic individual, most fantastic kid, most fantastic home made creation, most fantastic beard & moustache and most fantastic pants! Compered by the most fantastic Stephen Frost and with a host of fantastic celebrity judges the Competitions will start after Rolf Harris on the Main Stage so be ready for 4.30pm at the Catwalk by the Dressing Up Tent!

NB: It's always fun to get dressed up but it's no sweat if you don't wanna, it’s a strictly come as you are festival and we want you to feel relaxed and happy at all times.
