A lot more than your average radio station, Bestival Radio promises to abuse your ears... In a good way of course.  Four days of ridiculously sweaty, live broadcasts showcasing the very best of Bestival. Hosted by the very best of the Bestival artists, performers, and the Bestival FM crew.  Our rogue reporters will be out and about covering everything from fancy dress antics, to festival weddings, tree climbing, welly chucking and tent jumping.

For 2011 Bestival Radio will ‘Stop Making Sense’ and will be on a nonsensical mission to reenact the very best elements of Talking Heads ‘Stop Making Sense’ film. With classic tracks such as Take Me to the River, Psycho Killer and Naive Melody (This Must Be the Place) to the visual accompaniment of David Byrne’s over sized suit. The radio will be taking you on a surreal journey, from ghetto blaster to shadow: the inspiring backdrop will bring the sonic airwaves to life with all heads talking.

Things kick off at 10am on Thursday 8th September keeping you company on route to the festival with all travel and information making the road to Bestival a smooth ride with music and entertainment of the highest standard.  We will be bringing you the very best of the festival until we draw to a close on the Monday.  We’ll be running around, pestering as many musicians, DJs, personalities and performers into taking a turn at the controls and adding to your Bestival experience.  More importantly than that, we will be herding you to our makeshift studio and stage and FORCING you to get involved in making the station the REAL sound of Bestival.

Official sponsor Smiffys will be hand again this year to ensure the fancy dress is flowing with daily competitions and chances for those rock star and diva outfits to be won.
