Melter Meatballs

Big Al and his partner Jenny started up Melter Meatballs in Summer 2017. With Al coming from a TV producer and comedy background and Jenny a graphic design background, following this dream was a baptismal of fire! Melter started out on high footing with a stall space in Camden Lock under the management of Kerb and going on the road from there in Autumn 2017. Still trading with Kerb at West India Quay and Kings Cross, these pair of ballers are now also popping up many other markets in London including Victoria Park, Tottenham Green and soon a pop-up residency at the fantastic Mercato Metropolitano. Along the way, the guys have also discovered that beer and balls make perfect pairing and have been appearing at breweries throughout London too with regular appearances at the fast-growing and wildly popular Fourpure Brewery in Bermondsey.

The beef used for the meatballs is locally sourced from Smithfield Butchers in central London where Trevor and his team work with Al to make sure the beef is cut to the perfect texture to ensure the flavour remains in the balls while they are slow-cooking in the homemade secret recipe sauce only Big Al knows the recipe for! As the guys behind Melter are Irish, they insist on only using Irish Kerrygold butter in the mashed potato as this gives a richer smoother texture when mashing. With all the toppings, these meatball dishes are pulling in five star reviews online from customers and food bloggers alike, ensuring repeat customers checking and following them across London to get their hands on the balls before they run out!
