Akinola Davies Jr. is a video artist, curator, and music consultant, based in London.
Akinola explores themes of race, identity, gender, and inclusion within his work, telling the stories that bridge the gap between traditional and millennial communities.
He has worked with artists such as Kate Tempest, Amadou and Miriam and Klein as well as with fashion house Kenzo and Bianca Saunders.
After graduating with first class honors from the University of Brighton Media & communication, Akinola started his career as a music curator for pioneering music video platform, Just Jam as well as special partnerships manager at global platform Daily Motion.
He has produced work for the Victoria and Albert Museum, NTS as well as led initiatives with the Tate Modern, Ace Hotel, The Barbican Centre and the Design Museum and been profiled by leading publications such as British Vogue and i-D Magazine.
Akinola is also the founder Nigerian Lives Matter, a grassroots organization which looks to bring international attention and created awareness of the political landscape in northern Nigeria.
