Restival
Restival, the ultimate chill out area, returns to Bestival 2008. This year the area will be bigger and better making Restival the ultimate place for those seeking some peace and tranquillity amid the festival madness. At Restival you will find a beautifully decorated garden surrounded by exotic yurts and tipis, a cinema, an excellent 24hr cafe and lots of peaceful activities and performance to sooth and inspire. Come and join us for some serious lazy living.
The Restival garden will be a great hangout area beautifully decorated with colourful parasols, flags and murals, a perfect place to play a garden game or simply kick back and enjoy the last of the summer sun. Hammockology will be on hand with its wonderfully comfortable hammocks and there will be shaded cushion areas so you can relax, relax, relax. If you come at night the garden will be ablaze with lanterns and dazzling projections. For some serious time-out the Restival yurts will provide luxury and peace. The yurts will be opulently furnished with carpets and wall hangings from Asia and filled with masses of soft cushions. Here rest seekers will find loads of classic board games and puzzles to play, a library of inspiring books and the papers for that perfect lazy Sunday.
Restival will be run by our magnificent yurt fairies who will pamper you and keep the area clean and comfortable 24hrs a day... not a muddy boot or overflowing ashtray in site! At the fairy headquarters you will find solutions for that festival emergency, platters of fruits, glasses of squash and lots more!
If you are after some entertainment we have lots of new creative workshops to help add the wow factor to your fancy dress or bring out your inner artist. If you are peckish how about making some indulgent treats with our chefs? For the more passive festival goer there will be inspirational poetry from Hammer and Tongue where you can curl up in comfort and be transported to another world. If all this sounds too much you can simply crawl into one of our sleeping dens filled with rugs and duvets and be lulled to sleep with bed time stories.
Restival can be found on the hill next to the Heavenly Healing area – come and join us.
