Introduction
Bestival 2008 takes place between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th September 2008 at Robin Hill Countyside Adventure Park near Newport on the lovely Isle of Wight.
This Practical Info section of our website is here to provide you, as the title suggests, with useful information about the festival so you can make the most of it - how to get there, when to get there, when to leave, how to book yourself a Tipi, a Yurt, one of our Boutique Camping options or a ready pitched tent. Plus there's useful information about the campsites, campervan areas and disabled facilities... and much more!
Some of this info is below and the rest of it is elsewhere in this section. If it's not here the chances are it's not been confirmed yet so please bear with us... or ask us via our forum (preferable as the answer may already be there) or email hello@bestival.net if it's urgent and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
New for Bestival 2008:
Our car park and campsites will open at midday on Thursday 4th September!
Gates close midday Monday 8th September.
No entry into the site after midnight on any night.
Main arena will open at approx midday each day & shut at 3am on Friday & Saturday night and 1am on Sunday night. Rest of site is open 24 hours.
Travel:
The Isle of Wight is only about 2 hours from London (for example) and really couldn't be easier to get to. There are hundreds of ferry crossings to the Isle of Wight each and every day (& night!) and these ferry routes connect easily with road and rail in Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington.
Please read the other articles in this Practical Info section carefully for detailed instructions on how to get to the Isle of Wight and then how to find to Bestival once you get there.
Also, why not get involved in our Car Sharing scheme and help save the environment from that extra pollution... & save your own money in the process! Head over to www.liftshare.org for more info & to sign up...
In 2007 the people who used Liftshare saved 115,386 miles of car travel, 35 tonnes of CO2, 11,761 trees and £11,539 of their own money!
