Dollskabeat
Dollskabeat is a UK based Solo Artist/Songwriter/Producer and Performer. She moulds her music by taking influences from alternative Pop, Electronic, RnB and Disco. The arrangement and lyrics are pop, the sounds, alternative. It would be easy to classify the overall sound as wholly 80’s influenced or electro, though on a closer listen, the rhythmic lyrics, varying patterns of beats and a love of polished production nod towards a more eclectic mix of musical styles.
Dollskabeat has only just begun her journey into making music. Coming from a family of music lovers, she started off playing a bit of piano in her younger years, worked in the music industry for a while, then decided that, with all these melodies floating around in her head, something had to come out in the form of some finished songs.
Since completing a five track demo in 2007, she has performed live sessions on Radio 1 and at London’s Maida Vale studios and been tipped as one of BBC Radio 1’s ’Top Scottish Artists to Watch for 2008’ as well as some spins on Tom Robinson’s show for BBC 6music and Radio 1 and in September she'll of course be gracing us with her presence at Bestival.
Dollskabeat has just taken her first dance steps onto the stage for live performances, where she layers her programmed beats with live drums, vocals and visuals by award winning visual artist Max Hattler. The result is a highly extrovert, visual and innovative performance from a lady who loves to dance.
