Club Dada
Club Dada is the home of bonkers all night cabaret and the hottest bands from 12pm – 5am daily. Curated by the good folk at Continental Drifts, with assistance from Last Man Standing, Rob da Bank, Strummerville, Global Local, the Arts Council and more ... welcome to a surreal world where the absurd is everyday and where eccentricity isn't just celebrated but elevated to performance art.
Friday will see a diverse range of bands including The Worm, The Owls, White Williams, Chrome Hoof and Peyoti For President, cabaret from Timberlina Presents... and DJ sets from DJ Scotch Egg, DJ Tofu and a Trojan Sounds Late Nite Spectacular.
Saturday will kick off with music programmed by Strummerville. The Strummerville Foundation is a music charity that aims to provide new opportunities for aspiring musicians. Set up in the memory of the late Clash frontman, Joe Strummer, the charity seeks to reflect his unique contribution to the music world by offering recording time, musical instruments and performance opportunities to young and disadvantaged artists.
Saturday then continues with a seaside special DJ set from Bobby Friction & Nihal and by showcasing some of the hottest acts around at the moment - inc Florence & The Machine, The Presets and XX Teens - before ending with some saucy Club Dada Cabaret.
Sunday sees Global Local take charge of proceedings at the start of the day. Global Local is an Arts Council funded project that hunts down and provides a platform for the most cutting edge, up and coming acts from a whole host of genres. Whether Roma or a Rumba, these artists are remixing their culture with the myriad of 21st Century styles that exist in the UK today.
Later in the day Club Dada is transformed into the Last Man Standing Saloon. Last Man Standing is a avante garde nine piece ensemble performing a dirty, bluesy, drunken sound with influences stretching from Zappa to Zapatita. It's fronted by Max Vanderwolf who has also programmed the likes of Urban Voodoo Machine, Deathray Trebuchet and Barry Adamson into the proceedings. And the night closes off with cabaret from Party Trickz.
