Primal Scream present Screamadelica Live

After performing a storming headline set on the main stage to close Bestival in 2007, we welcome back the awesome Primal Scream with open arms to deliver a very special show indeed.

This time headlining the Saturday night Bobby Gillespie and co will be transforming the Big Top into a epic celebration of one of the greatest albums ever recorded by a British band, the seminal Screamadelica.

Winner of the first ever Mercury Prize it’s no understatement to say that Screamadelica was a game changer, an album that under the guidance of producers Andrew Weatherall and Terry Farley blurred the lines of rock, acid house, dub and gospel to produce a psychedelic melting pot of blissed out wonderment, from the bombast of Moving on Up and Come Together, to the tripped out dub of Higher Than the Sun to the majesty of Loaded it was a record that united clubbers, stoners, indie kids and ravers alike in a shared adoration of the eras defining musical work, a true classic in every sense of the word.

2011 sees the 20th anniversary of the album and to celebrate this the band will be setting their sights on uniting the Bestival massive as they play the album in its entirety for a show that we are sure will go down in Bestival folklore as one of our greatest ever.
