Omar Souleyman

Omar Souleyman hails from Syria and has been prolific in his country, releasing over five hundred albums since 1994.

Along with a collective of local artists that remain with him to this day he has been at the forefront of Syrian music melding a plethora of Arabic and middle eastern influences to create his truly unique sound, a sound that may have gone unnoticed on these shores had it not been for his discovery by US label Sublime Frequencies who have championed his music with a series of compilation albums since 2006.
