LFO

Originally formed by the duo of Gez Varley and Mark Bell, LFO were at ground zero of the acid house explosion of the late eighties and went on to be one of the most innovative and influential techno acts on the planet.

The pair met while studying in Leeds and soon bonded over a share love of music and technology and before long had created their first masterpiece, the eponymous LFO, a track that soon came to the attention of Techno uber label Warp who released it to an open mouthed world in 1990.

During the nineties the duo continued to bend, stretch and break boundaries with their genre defining releases as well as remixes for the likes of Radiohead, Depeche Mode and Afrika Bambaataa before Varley left in 1996 for pastures new.

To this day Mark Bell continues to take music forward under the LFO moniker as he did with the astounding album Sheath in 2003, featuring the heartstoppingly massive Freak.
