Example

Whilst Example may have just popped onto the majority of music lovers radars thanks to his singles “Watch the Sun Come up” and  “Won’t Go Quietly” smashing its way into the UK charts he’s actually been on the scene making honest to goodness quality hip hop since as long ago as 2004.

Growing up in West London a young Elliot Greave (E.G. Example, geddit??) was heavily influenced by the likes of Wu-Tang and Snoop, first picking up the mic himself at various house parties before becoming a garage MC as a way of paying his way through Uni.

After leaving Uni he a career in music was the only course of action, setting up his own label All The Chats and releasing a series of singles that caught the attention of the great and the good from Zane Lowe to Pete Tong and most significantly The Streets Mike Skinner who immediately signed him up to his The Beats imprint, resulting in Example’s first long player “What we Made”.

Ever intent on moving his sound forward his second album “Won’t Go Quietly” sees Example diversify into a range of genres described by the man himself as “Dysfunctional Electro-Pop” and set to see the man rise up through the ranks to become one of UK urban music’s brightest shining stars.

His performance at Bestival 2010 represents a perfect opportunity to catch a genuinely exciting new, young talent.
